FAQ - Wickcraft Walkways

Q: In the past our trail ways have run into permitting issues the Department of Natural Resources. What type of permits do we need with your walkway system?

A: Generally, no permitting is required for our walkways, however it is wise to notify the Department of Natural Resources as to what you are planning.
Q: Our current trail way utilizes green-treated 4x4?s driven into the ground with 2 x 10?s and deck boards making up the deck. Every year we have problems with the ground heaving in the winter causing twists or uneven areas. Will your Wickcraft walkways have the same problems?

A: The Wickcraft Walkway sits on top of the ground and is able to flex at the joints to avoid tearing the system apart like the wood systems. If the ground changes height during the winter our walkways come with easy to adjust legs.
Q: I need to replace an existing trail way that goes through wetlands. How long will your walkways last in those conditions?

A: The walkway frames will last an estimated 75 years in non-saltwater conditions and treated 2?6? boards about 20 years.
Q: My boat dock is on the other side of and open marsh area. Can I use a Wickcraft walkways system to access my dock, and if I can do I need any special permits?

A: All Wickcraft walkway components tie into our boat docks and generally no permitting is required.
