FAQ - Wickcraft Track Systems

Q: I am going to remodel my existing boathouse. I will be adding a new cement floor and need to know if I have to anchor my track system in the cement?

A: We recommend pouring the track system into the cement to eliminate both a tripping hazard and a clean up issue.
Q: The water level is receding every year on my lake in New York. I have a Wickcraft track system and need to add about 10 feet so that I can have my boat release without touching the bottom. Is this something I can do by myself or do I need to have a dealer involved?

A: It is very easy for you to extend your track system with a little assistance from a friend. Wickcraft track systems were designed to be installed by the owner, however if you do not feel up to the task call Wickcraft and we can find a certified installer for you.
Q: I do not have a boathouse but would like to have my boat be out of the water. In the past I used a shore station but found that I was constantly having it fixed. Is it possible to use a track system without a boathouse? If so will I need to have a boat dock?

A: Many track systems are used without a boathouse. Canopy systems can be purchased to create a roof over the boat. Our system works great either way. Boat docks are very nice to have located next to your track system and Wickcraft offers a 2-foot wide boat dock for that purpose.
Q: I have a boat that weighs 3,800 pounds. Do you recommend your track systems for boats this large?

A: Our track system is rated at 5,000 lbs.
Q: I have a shore station next to my boat dock, but because the water is low on our lake it makes it difficult to use the shore station and I am looking at several alternatives. If I were to use a track system for my boat how much water is needed to draft the boat?

A: 3' of water is generally required to release a boat from our track system.
